Role summary: The Building Management System (BMS) Controls Technician is responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of building automation and controls systems across our facilities portfolio. This role serves as a subject-matter expert in BMS platforms including Alerton, Willow, and Niagara and plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, energy efficiency, and performance of all building mechanical, electrical, and environmental systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with a strong controls background, a proactive approach to fault detection and system optimization, and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. About the team: The Facilities Management team oversees the operation, maintenance, and optimization of building systems to ensure efficient and reliable facility performance. This team manages building automation platforms, including HVAC, lighting, and electrical controls, while supporting system integration and energy management initiatives. Members collaborate closely with stakeholders to address operational needs, implement preventive measures, and maintain compliance with environmental standards. What you'll do: BMS Operations & Monitoring Monitor, operate, and manage BMS platforms (Alerton, Willow, Niagara) to ensure continuous and efficient performance of all building systems including HVAC, lighting, electrical, and plumbing controls Respond promptly to BMS alarms, alerts, and system faults; diagnose root causes and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime Analyze system trend data and performance logs to proactively identify anomalies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization Maintain and update BMS sequences of operations, graphics, schedules, and set points in accordance with facility requirements What you'll bring: Proven leadership experience in facilities or operations management, including supervising and developing teams. Strong knowledge of environmental compliance and safety standards within facility operations. Expertise in budget development, financial planning, and cost management for maintenance and capital projects. Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and business objectives. Excellent problem-solving skills with experience in emergency response planning and issue remediation. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and motivate associates.
