The hiring salary range for this position is $60,064/year - $80,000/year, based on experience . What Youll Do The Business Operations Administrator (BOA) provides high-level administrative, operational, and coordination support to several senior leaders within the Mayors Office. Sitting at the center of the organization, the BOA ensures the smooth, efficient, and strategic functioning of the Mayors leadership team by managing day-to-day priorities, facilitating information flow, and supporting aligned, timely execution across multiple portfolios. Key responsibilities of a Business Operations Administrator include, but are not limited to: Administrative & Executive Support Provide high-level administrative support to senior leaders, including the Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Projects Officer, and Deputy Chief of Staff Manage complex calendars, coordinate meetings, and align scheduling with strategic priorities Draft, edit, and proofread correspondence, briefing materials, and talking points. Coordinate travel, reimbursements, procurement, and expense processing Operational Coordination Serve as a central point of contact for senior staff, triaging inquiries and ensuring timely follow-up Prepare and coordinate briefing materials, meeting agendas, notes, and action summaries Support project tracking, workflow management, deadlines, and documentation across multiple portfolios Stakeholder Engagement Act as a professional point of contact for city agencies, elected officials, community partners, and the public Coordinate with departments to gather information, track requests, and support cross-functional alignment Assist with logistics and coordination for meetings, events, and public-facing activities Process & Systems Support Maintain and improve administrative systems, including digital filing, workflow tools, and project trackers Support office-wide process improvements and system implementation What Youll Bring The ideal candidate for the Business Operations Administrator position in the Mayors Office is a highly ethical, politically aware, and detail-oriented professional who thrives in high-pressure environments. They possess strong emotional intelligence, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate complex government structures with diplomacy and professionalism. With a deep understanding of municipal government and government relations, they can handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining flexibility and reliability. This individual is a master multi-tasker and committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and service to Denvers residents. In addition, our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics: Experience supporting senior executives in government, politics, or the public sector Strong project management skills and ability to navigate complex workflows Familiarity with Denvers civic landscape, government structure, and key community stakeholders Strong written and verbal communication with sound judgment and discretion Exceptional organization and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint) Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with a solution-focused mindset; able to remain calm under pressure amid shifting timelines and priorities Professionalism, political awareness, and ability to build effective working relationships across departments Required Minimum Qualifications Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience administering business operations or operational programs and/or assisting professional/management staff with administrative or operational functions. Education and Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education.
