Full Job Description

VCA Animal Hospital of Santa Cruz is searching for a Veterinary Assistant passionate about patient care and dedicated to providing excellent client service. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen. In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include: Maintaining medical records, obtaining patient vital signs, and scribing patient histories. Performing outpatient wellness services such as vaccines, deworming treatments, parasite preventions, and light grooming; Preparing the surgical suite and surgical patients. Filling prescriptions and recommending appropriate hospital programs for wellness plans and prescription delivery services. Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging. Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded, grooming, and hospitalized pets.
