Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mission Assurance Manager to join our team in Yorktown, Virginia. This position is within the MK-48 Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA), which provides critical support to the US Navys Atlantic Fleet. This is a government facility that is comprised of a mixture of Contractor, Civil Service, and Military personnel. The Mission Assurance Manager will manage the Northrop Grumman Quality team within the IMA in support of the US Navy Quality Department, ensuring that services provided to the fleet meet prescribed standards and customer expectations. Our Team in Yorktown, Virginia is Customer focused, process driven, and dedicated to continuous improvement. Responsibilities Include: Oversight and Management of the Technical Publication Library (TPL), Top Level Review (TLR), and Training Department Administration of IMA internal audit program Provide annual quality system audit training Participate in Local Quality Council (LQC) & Global Quality Council (GQC) Perform audits in accordance with the IMA Heavyweight Quality System Manual Participate in the IMAs Failure Review Board (FRB) Identify processes requiring improvement and generate corrective actions based on findings Perform root cause analysis Support continuous process improvement and innovation Basic Qualifications Must have a bachelors degree and 5 years from a regionally accredited college or university in a major related to quality control engineering and/or another technical discipline, with training in statistical quality control, total quality control, manufacturing, processing or metrology; Or 9 years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree. Five years supervisory experience in performing Quality Assurance activities of a similar nature to that which would be performed under this contract. Must be disciplined to follow detailed instructions and comply with procedures Ability to interpret and assess technical documentation Auditing experience Quality Assurance experience Experience in continuous process improvement efforts to improve workplace processes, procedures and cost effectiveness Ability to pass an Explosive Handler Physical Ability to obtain Arms and Ammunition Explosive Screening Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Excel, Access, and Word Active U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Secret security clearance Ability to work occasional overtime to meet specific mission requirements Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of torpedo maintenance experience Experience with performance of Torpedo Operation and Maintenance at the Intermediate or Depot level or DOD weapons systems of a similar nature to that which would be performed under this contract Experience in performing Non-Destructive testing (NDT) dealing with advanced testing techniques such as using X-ray, magnetic particles, ultrasonic and liquid dye penetrating agents Experience in performing Statistical Quality Assurance (SQA) and Total Quality Management (TQM) in various stages of Quality control like manufacturing processes, total Quality control, metrology, normalization, authenticity and certification of product quality Experience in continuous process improvement efforts to improve workplace processes, procedures and cost effectiveness Experience with the SW510AJPRO010/COMMON Quality Assurance System Ability to read and interpret flow diagrams and technical drawings Primary Level Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $165,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
