Legal Assistant The Legal Assistant works directly with six members of the NAM Litigation team to handle non-employment litigation, personal injury and property damage claims, non-wage garnishments and third party subpoenas. The position provides broad exposure to all areas of Maersk's global transportation and logistics business, including terminals, trucking, warehousing and ocean transportation. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, curious, highly organized and attentive to detail, a skilled written and verbal communicator and enjoy working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Previous experience is not necessary but enthusiasm and the ability to learn new skills and work independently is mandatory. Key Responsibilities Handle data intake for new personal injury and property damage claims, including following up with operational colleagues for additional information. Create claim files and report claims to insurers and third party adjusters. Prepare monthly and quarterly litigation reports and assist in presentations to legal and finance colleagues. Arrange for payment of legal invoices. Work with finance team to respond to non-wage garnishments. Work with team members to identify and collect documents needed to respond to third party subpoenas. Identify and gather documents needed to respond to discovery requests and review and verify discovery responses in litigation Required Qualifications & Skills High School Diploma or equivalent required; Advanced or Bachelors Degree preferred 3-5 years of experience in customer-facing role with demonstrated excellence in customer service preferred Proficiency in Excel Job Type: Full Time This role allows the selected candidate to work from home 2 days per week as part of our flexible work policy.
