Security Clearance: DoD Clearance: Secret As a Calibration Technician, Test Equipment Services at Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, youll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the test equipment that supports our mission-essential aerospace systems. Working onsite, youll take ownership of highly complex calibration and repair tasks across AC/DC circuitry, applying deep electronic theory and advanced troubleshooting skills to keep our equipment performing at its best. This is a hands-on technical role where your independence, precision, and attention to detail will have a direct impact on the quality and performance of our products. In this position, you wont just execute tasksyoull collaborate with engineers, provide technical recommendations, work from minimal documentation, and even help shape new calibration processes that drive efficiency across the organization. Youll work with a wide range of electrical and mechanical test equipment, support surrounding sites as needed, and manage a dynamic workload where priorities can shift quickly. What You Will Do: Calibrate and repair test equipment related to AC/DC circuitry Must be able to read electrical schematics Work under minimal supervision and perform a variety of highly complex technical tasks which require a substantial understanding of engineering techniques and all technical objectives Utilize effective communication and provides technical recommendations for capital, expense, and service acquisitions Works from minimal documentation or written or verbal instructions May assist engineers with design and development of new calibration processes Maintains a monthly/weekly workload of calibration and repair Support on-site calibration and repairs as needed at various surrounding sites Work with various electrical and mechanical test equipment Applies significant electronic theory to configure, model, layout, prototype, build, test, troubleshoot, determine solutions and modify electronic products for engineering efforts applicable to the department Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year posthigh school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience Educational or professional background in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics), or equivalent technical training Strong knowledge of electronic circuitry and troubleshooting skills The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. The salary range for this role is 50,000 USD - 100,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
