Job Description: Radiology Technologist Location: Utah Valley Sports Medicine Medical Group Organization: Intermountain Health Pay Range: $29.14 $44.94/hour (dependent upon experience) Schedule: MondayFriday, 7:30 AM 5:30 PM (one undetermined day off per week) Job Description As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate imaging and exceptional patient care in a fast-paced sports medicine environment. Essential Functions Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions. Ensure proper patient identification, verify orders, and prepare patients for exams. Perform imaging exams per department protocol; review images for quality and accuracy. Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe work environment. Complete studies efficiently without compromising patient care or image quality. Assist and instruct students and other technologists in procedures and equipment use. Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address concerns. Practice infection control and sterile techniques. Operate imaging equipment and related systems to ensure quality results. Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient data, and any adverse reactions. Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, and equipment reporting. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of anatomy and imaging techniques Ability to evaluate images for clarity and diagnostic quality Proficient in operating radiologic equipment and contrast protocols Capable of responding to emergencies and working independently Effective communication and teamwork skills Familiarity with electronic imaging systems and task prioritization Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment Minimum Qualifications ARRT (R) certification Radiologic Technologist License in the state of Utah Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist and perform MA functions in clinic or InstaCare settings Preferred Qualifications 12 years of radiology experience IV Certification Join Intermountain Health and be part of a team thats committed to excellence in patient care and imaging services. Physical Requirements: Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
