The Impact Youll Make in this Role As a Laboratory Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Maintaining a safe working environment. Conducting laboratory and pilot plant experiments with principle investigators to optimize new product constructions and produce samples for customers. Completing complex performance and property testing with minimal supervision and reporting results, including sample preparation and conditioning, testing, data analysis, and reporting. Assisting in the development of new test methods, optimizing existing testing procedures, and documenting test methods. Securing and organizing a stock of critical raw materials and semi-finished goods to support R&D experiments, including placing RM purchase orders and working with other 3M sites. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution Minimum of two (2) years of laboratory or pilot plant environment experience in a private, public, government or military environment Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Minimum four (4) years of laboratory or pilot plant environment experience Experience with testing or development of adhesive tapes Experience supporting R&D or Pilot Line process experiments Microsoft Office proficient Work location: 3M Center - Maplewood, MN Travel: May include up to 10% domestic Relocation Assistance: Not authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
