Department: Parks + Rec - Seasonal Jobs Title: Seasonal Worker IV - Beach Assistant Supervisor -Longview Beach Location: Kansas City, MO Grade: 099NM Salary: $17.00/hour Job Duties: Assistant Supervisor Job Duties: Oversee daily beach operations in the absence of the Beach Supervisor, including admissions, maintenance, cleaning, customer concerns, and safety. Act as a lifeguard when the Beach Supervisor is present. Ensure patron safety by actively scanning the water, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies with water rescues, CPR, and first aid. Assist the Beach Supervisor with managing seasonal staff. Take charge in emergencies, adhering to established protocols. Ensure beach facilities are clean and stocked, inform Beach Supervisor of any maintenance needs. Assist with staffing for Longview Beach Special Events, such as Sand Cinema or other beach-hosted events. Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Strong communication skills Must obtain Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification prior to the beach opening. Required to attend 2 days of provided lifeguard training on 5/3 and 5/9 unless a current certification can be provided or obtained independently. Ability to maintain certification-level physical and menta readiness. Basic computer and point-of-sale skills are necessary. Required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays; work schedule will vary. ***These are seasonal positions only. Successful applicants must provide their own transportation. All applicants must be 16 years of age or older unless otherwise specified. Valid driver's license required. Must pass pre-employment drug test/background check.
