The Opportunity This position works out of our Sylmar, CA location. This is an onsite role. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats. MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE The Statistician performs data analysis according to requirements of statistical plans and seeks to design meaningful studies to assess the performance of implantable products within the Cardiac Rhythm Management business unit (e.g., leadless pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac leads). The statistician uses statistical software, such as R or Minitab, to accurately prepare data, complete analysis, and provide appropriate visual reports. The statistician must provide statistical input to cross-functional teams and review protocols, records, and statistical plans. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Perform data analysis using R, Minitab or other statistical software. Understand study design and statistical analysis plan. Explore data to ensure integrity of study data. Analyzes customer complaints, events and other post market surveillance data by examining the data for patterns and trends and investigating when necessary. Ensure accuracy of statistical analysis outputs. Interact with cross-functional team on statistical concepts. Develop protocols with statistical plans and appropriate records. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication with cross-functional teams and meet deadlines. Apply business and ethical standards and apply strong attention to details. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine to meet established schedule. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's Degree in Statistics or related field Master's Degree or PhD, Preferred Experience/Background Minimum 1 year work experience post-graduation PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Statistical Software (Minitab, R, SAS) Graduate projects or thesis associated with engineering, medical devices, or pharmaceutical products Work experience in the fields of health care or medical devices Demonstrated interest in the application of statistics to health care Understanding of the US and International regulatory environment for medical device development, manufacturing, and post-market surveillance.
