Focused on student academic achievement and postgraduate outcomes Welcomes difference and models respectful interaction with others Engages with the community both within and outside of ACC Job Posting Title: Assistant III (Hourly) Job Description Summary: To provide support to faculty and staff on the use of academic technologies across the ACC district. Job Description: Description of Duties and Tasks Examine and respond to correspondence; receive, prioritize, and route incoming communications (mail, email, calls); arrange conference calls; maintain or coordinate supervisors schedule; expedite the processing of documents/items requiring action. Assess and work with staff and community members to resolve issues from employees and the public regarding college events. Organize and maintain calendars, meetings, and events; manage detailed logistics including agendas, minutes, equipment, locations, information packets, and follow-up action items. Gather, compile, and enter data; produce routine and specialized (narrative and statistical) reports and documents; establish and maintain files, records, logs, and tracking systems in alignment with records retention and preservation standards. Summarize discussions and actions taken in clear report/minute formats. Perform complex computer activities, including word/data processing, scheduling workflows, and creating visual/graphic presentations. Design and produce handouts, flyers, newsletters, brochures, manuals, and similar materials; maintain or update webpages; use social media as directed. May serve as a technical resource for office hardware/software and equipment (e.g., copiers, scanners). Facilitate the checkout of available technology to faculty and staff. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with classroom audio/visual technology. May review and provide recommendations to update departmental webpages and/or knowledge bases. Responds to and/or directs inquiries in person or on the telephone; accesses and works with other staff to assist in resolving issues from ACC faculty and staff. Corresponds with other ACC teams and departments including IT Services, Student Technology Services, etc. on behalf of ACC faculty and staff. May be assigned responsibility for special projects such as scheduling rooms, compiling information packets, creating spreadsheets, charts, and graphs, and other projects. Additional Job Specific Duties Provide day-to-day support to other hourly employees within the Educational Technology Support team. Serve as a mentor to all hourly employees within the Educational Technology Support team. Knowledge Office procedures and practices. Use of Zoom, Blackboard, and other academic technologies a plus. Customer service techniques. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary. Skills Maintaining an established work schedule, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Using interpersonal and communication skills with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality; effective customer-orientation when working with a diverse population. Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials. Organizational and planning skills with intense attention to detail and follow-through; compiling and organizing complex material; summarizing discussions/actions in report form. Reviewing and preparing narrative and statistical reports/records; interpreting and applying rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; analyzing situations and adopting effective courses of action. Entering data, maintaining files, and performing other clerical duties; maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials. Technology Skills Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software. Ability to operate computers and tablet devices. Ability to operate projectors, microphones, and other AV technologies is a plus. Physical Requirements Work is routinely performed in a standard office or similar environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds. Safety Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
